The remains of a French national murdered under Argentina’s military dictatorship have been identified after 34 years. High school students helped crack the case involving Frenchman Yves Domergue and his Mexican girlfriend Cristina Cialceta who were killed in 1976.

The male population is represented by 48.7 percent and the female population is represented by 51.3 percent. Romania is the seventh country in the European Union on the largest population chart. It follows Germany, France, United Kingdom, Italy, Spain and Poland.

Prime Minister Vladimir Putin said he has sung Soviet-era patriotic songs with the 10 spies deported from the United States and knows the identities of those who betrayed them.

Putin described his meeting with the spies during a trip to Ukraine, where he also rode a Harley-Davidson motorcycle and sought to bolster Russian-Ukrainian relations.

TA NEA: Who killed Sokratis Giolias?

In what Ta Nea describes as a “planned assassination,” on 19 July, the investigative journalist and radio chief Sokratis Giolias “who was well known for his role in the uncovering of several scandals” was shot 16 times on his doorstep in Athens. “Why was this journalist targeted? And why was he targeted now?” wonders the daily. No one has claimed responsibility for the killing, however Ta Nea reminds its readers of the warning to journalists and police issued 18 months ago by “a group known as the Sect of Revolutionaries, which emerged after the 2008 riots.” Since then the group is believed to be responsible for the death of one police man.
